We have other customers that we have moved in to a Windows platform, they where under Novell 3.11 and it was version 5 on the Btrieve database, they are working fine in a Windows environment with Btrieve.exe version 5.x under XP, Vista and also Win7 i DOS. Now we have another customer using the same DOS application, but they have upgraded there Novell from 3.11 to 3.12 and then the Btrieve engine was updated to version 6.x so we need a newer version of Btrieve.exe in DOS to solve that. As long as they are in Novell environment it is working, but we need tho change them into Windwos platform as well, we can't help them so long time and the server is really crappy now. Is it possible to find a newer version of btrieve.exe, is it aviable under Novell 4.x perhaps? NetWare came with a BTRIEVE.NLM v6.10 in the v3.xx and v4.x releases. I think v5 may have gotten Pervasive.SQL v7 but I can't remember. BTRIEVE.EXE is a workstation engine. Btrieve Client Software Client for Remote Administratorâ„¢ v.2.1 'Client for Remote Administrator' - powerful wrapper for Remote Administrator (RAdmin), which adds to it many useful functions: remote install and setup, PC stored in folders, search of new PC. The Canadian Model of Client-Centered Enablement (CMCE) is a model using visual metaphor to show the therapist-client relationship and client-centered enablement. According to the model, enablement is the core of occupational therapy, which helps guide reasoning and choices in the therapy. It was designed for standalone or small peer-to-peer networks. With NetWare, the BTRIEVE.NLM runs at the server and DOS applications used BREQUEST.EXE. The 'old' version of BTRIEVE.EXE should still work with NetWare v4.x. BTRIEVE.EXE cannot be distributed except with the application that used it. This was(and still is) in the distribution agreement. You cannot just download a BTRIEVE.EXE. It would be illegal. Btrieve v6.15 was always a separate product from NetWare. And the problem is that I only have Btrieve.exe in version 5.x, the problem ouccur when they upgraded the Novell server to 3.12 and the btrieve.nlm has a tick - update to version 6.x as standad:( They are only using one PC to access the data so if it a multi or single computer solution is not a problem. So I still need version 6.,x of btrieve.exe to run the software under a Windows platform. Duel masters card maker pcs. Is it possible so use pervasive sql server and client to have this software to run? It seems to bee a big solution instead of a single file called: Btrieve.exe and it is still Novell btrieve.nlm who has upgraded the database files for them, we could still have them in version 5 if it is possible to do a rollback? Maybee it is solved by untick the save in version 6 format in btrieve.nlm? Are the Btrieve files on the NetWare Server? If not, then the existing BTRIEVE.EXE should still work. Even if they are on the server, the old BTRIEVE.EXE might still work. Unload BSPXCOM.NLM on the NetWare server and try with the old BTRIEVE.EXE. It might work. The 'File Format' setting in BTRIEVE.NLM (in BTI.INI) is only for new files. Existing files will not be magically converted. Only during a rebuild will they be converted. Switching to v5.x will let the v6.x engine create files in the older format. Pervasive.SQL might work but I don't know. It depends on the application. The last version of Pervasive.SQL that supports NetWare (and runs as an NLM) was v9.5. All the files are at the moment on the Novell 3.12 server, they also login with a DOS client, so they don't need to use Btrieve.exe in this solution. But when I tried to start the application on a Windows platform, then we need the Btrieve.exe and version 5.0 that I have gives me an error, it can't be opened because the version is newer (version 6) on the database then the Btrieve.exe that I have (version 5.x) So the only solutin that I have is that I either get in hand with Btrieve.exe version 6.0 or maybee tries to un-tick the settings in Btrieve.nlm and change it to version 5.x, it 'might' re-creates that databases in version 5.x instead of version 6.
